Back on the Water!

After spending the winter building muscle and battling with the ergs, it’s time to head back out on the water! March 21st will be our 1st practice back at Eagle Creek. Practice times will now return to a normal hour (no more 5:30am wakeups!) from 6-8pm. If you’re curious about the sport, come give it a try. Please contact our President, Maggie Jensen, if you have any other questions.

Weekend at Secret City

Last weekend, Butler Crew traveled to Oak Ridge, Tennessee to compete at the Secret City Head Race.
There was a lot of stiff competition including Murray State University, East Tennessee State University, Georgia State University, and Atomic Rowing Club!
We had 5 boats racing over the weekend:
Men’s Open 2+
Women’s Novice 4+
Women’s Varsity 4+
Women’s Open 8+
Women’s Open 1x
Congrats to club president Autumn Tyler for receiving gold for her 1st place finish in the Women’s Open 1x.
After a difficult racing weekend, the Dawgs are shifting their attention towards Head of the Eagle on October 31st in Indianapolis, IN. This is our only “home” regatta of the season, so come out and support your Row Dawgs!

Speakmon Memorial Regatta

We had our first regatta in Columbus, OH this past weekend. Five Butler boats entered, and all did great!
Men’s Varsity 4+ placed 3rd                              Women’s Varsity 4+ placed 2nd
Women’s Novice 4+ placed 2nd                        Mixed Open 4+ A placed 3rd
                                       Mixed Open 4+ B placed 4th
The varsity rowers looked great on the water, and the novice rowers can now say they have experienced their first collegiate regatta!
