Past Weekend 11/15-11/17
As we head into Thanksgiving Break in a few days, let’s take a look at what our Club Sports teams accomplished this past weekend!
Club Hockey: Competed against Schoolcraft on Friday, 11/15 and Saturday, 11/16. Unfortunately, Butler lost 4-2 on Friday but got their redemption on Saturday, shutting them out 6-0.
Club Tennis: Traveled up north for the weekend to participate in the Badger Classic at University of Wisconsin. Butler went 3-3 overall, losing in the final of the bronze bracket to Nebraska. The team noted that they played extremely well, especially on the second day of the tournament, scoring big wins over Iowa State and Marquette. Overall, it was a successful weekend for our Club Tennis Team.
Women’s Club Lacrosse: Hosted their Fall Play Day this past weekend on Saturday, 11/16 and Sunday, 11/17. There were 6 teams in total who participated in the play day: Illinois State, Ohio University, Northern Kentucky, Indiana University, Depaul, and Butler. Butler went 2-2, losing both games on Saturday and then coming back and winning two big games on Sunday. President, Michaela Williams, commented that the trainer who was there was really helpful. They were able to utilize them several times and it made the coaches and players feel a lot more safe and have some peace of mind.
Dance Club: Had their premiere showcase on Saturday, 11/16 at 4pm in Lilly Hall. The showcase raised money for Cameron Boyce Foundation. The showcase was a huge success for the Dance Club, with over 100 audience members attending and 40 performers.
