Dawgs Sweep Purdue Tournament
The Dawgs played as well as they have all season last weekend in a great national prep tournament at Purdue University. 12 teams competed in the tournament and the Dawgs came up victorious in all 6 of their games.
The tournament started with pool play on Saturday with the Dawgs winning 3 games against Krannert, Bowling Green and Central Michigan and earning them a #1 seed in the bracket play for Sunday.
Sunday started with a game against Indiana State that Butler won and moved on to play Dayton, a team that had beat them earlier in the season. The Dawgs defeated Dayton and played Wisconsin in the championship game. Butler jumped out to a 12 point half time lead and were able to hold onto that lead against a good Wisconsin team.
Butler now heads to the national tournament at Ohio State University this upcoming weekend. Pool play starts Friday night and continues on Saturday,
The team is extremely excited about the opportunity to play in the national tournament and can’t wait to see how they stack up against the nation’s best.

Dawgs Prep for National Tournament
Prep Tournament at Purdue
The Butler Club Basketball team will be competing in a 12-team tournament at Purdue this upcoming weekend that is dubbed as a “prep tournament” for nationals, which is just 3 weeks away. The Dawgs have mustered a .500 record in the second half of the season thus far after tournaments at Missouri and their Regional tournament at Illinois. Purdue’s tournament (April 9,10) figures to be a good measuring stick for Butler before they head to Nationals at Ohio State.
Nationals
After not traveling to the national tournament last season, the Dawgs will be returning once again, this time at Ohio State University. There will be 32 teams in the field and the Dawgs are looking to end their season on the highest of notes, a national championship.

Dawgs Fall in Championship of Dayton Invitational
Yet another strong Sunday for the Bulldogs.
After a sluggish 0-3 start to the Dayton Invitational on Saturday, November 7, the Dawgs rallied for two straight wins on Sunday. One over #1 overall seed Missouri. The Dawgs did however run out of gas on the last game Sunday falling to Dayton A in the championship game.
It was another great opportunity for the team to grow together and play. The Dawgs now have until second semester to continue practicing and preparing before a busy second half of the year kicks off.
Thank you all for your continued support!
Dawgs Top Ivy Tech
Dawgs’ Stellar Defense Down Ivy Tech
Indianapolis, IN
Butler’s Club Basketball played host to Ivy Tech (Indianapolis) on Saturday in a defensive showdown.
The first half was a back and forth battle that led to a 24-23 lead for Ivy Tech at halftime. After a few adjustments from both teams, Ivy Tech opened the second half on a 6-1 run and led 30-23 with 12 minutes remaining in the game, The Bulldogs finally got their offense rolling and went on an 17-0 run that gave them a 40-30 lead with just under 5 minutes to go in the game. The Dawgs were able to keep that lead as they held on for a 45-37 victory at the Butler HRC (Health and Rec Center).
The Dawgs will now turn their attention to their next tournament coming up at Dayton on November 7th and 8th.
