NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

This past weekend your Butler Club Swim Team competed with Indy Aquatic Masters at the 2013 USMS Spring National Championships. Indy Aquatic Masters and your Butler Bulldogs are the 2013 national champions! The meet was held at the IU Natatorium on the IUPUI campus in downtown Indianapolis. On top of a national championship, Julia Harris and Kristyn Watts were apart of the women’s 200 Meldey Relay that placed in national top 5 for the 18-24 age group. Congrats!

Nationally Ranked Relays

The USMS 2012 SMC Top 10 rankings have been posted. Congratulations to the 3 nationally ranked Butler Club Swim Team relays! The 200m Freestyle Relay, consisting of Eva Schafer, Elizabeth Wilson, Riley Carter, and Natalie Hollies is ranked 6th. This same relay team is also ranked 2nd in the 200m Medley Relay. Finally, the Butler relay team consisting of Kate Stephens, Julia Harris, Kristyn Watts, and Michelle Landfair is ranked #1 in the 18-24 age group! Congratulations on an awesome short course meters season!

Attention All Swimmers!

The Butler Club Swim Team will hold its annual callout meeting September 5th at 5:30pm. Swimmers who wish to join the team can meet in the lobby of the HRC.  At this meeting you will be given more information on how to join the team (dues, expectations, etc.), competitions, and meet some new people.

Butler Club Swimming Top 5 Finishes at Nationals

This past weekend four BU Club Swimmers joined our sister team Indy Aquatic Masters to compete against teams from all over the country at the 2012 YMCA Masters National Championship in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  This meet was 4 days of competition coupled with fun in the sun.

Congratulations are in order for the four swimmers who traveled to Fort Lauderdale to compete. These girls not only gave it their all but also finished Top 5 in every event they entered!

3rd place – 50 yard Freestyle

Butler Club Swim Team places in the 2011 USMS Top 10

Congratulations to Butler Club Swim Team swimmers Julia Harris, Michelle Landfair, and Kristyn Watts! Their 200 Meter Freestyle and 200 Meter Medley relays made the USMS Top 10 lists for 2011. The 200 Meter Freestyle relay placed 6th and the 200 Meter Medley placed 4th in the COUNTRY! This 200 Medley relay also holds the GRIN State record. Way to go ladies!

Swim Meet Registrations

The Butler University Intramural Swim Meet will be held on February 7th at the Butler University Aquatic Center located inside the HRC. This event is open to everyone on campus not just Club Swim Team members. Swimmers may register online at www.imleagues.com/butler. Swimmers will be limited to 3 individual events and 1 relay.

The GRIN State Meet will be on March 24th-25th at North Central High School. The registration for the meet has been posted on the Events page. Swimmers who enter this event must be registered with USMS. If you are registered with USMS under a GRIN LMSC (IAM is a GRIN LMSC) you will be exempt from a registration fee. Please visit the Events page for the online registration link as well as the meet information and registration packet, which you may download.

28th Annual GRIN Fall Classic Results

28th Annual GRIN Fall Classic (SCM)

This short course meters (SCM) meet was the first major meet for the BU Club Swim Team. BU swimmers placed in the Top 3 in every event. Congratulations to the 200 meter  medley relay and their new state record of 2:27.00!
