Welcome Butler Class of 2016! If you are interested in participating in Club Tennis, make sure you visit our table at Block Party tomorrow (Tuesday) from 5-7. We are competitive, but our main goal is to have fun and meet new people. If you’re interested, find out more at our callout meeting or come visit our table at Block Party.

February 17th and 18th the team took 5 people and went back to UW-Madison for the Midwest Sectional tournament in an effort to win a bid to Nationals in Carey, NC.  We fell a little short, but managed to make it into the gold bracket, ensuring at least top 16 out of 32 teams.  This was a big accomplishment for us as we’ve never taken a full team before.

In our pool, we beat out Ohio University and Ferris State, but fell to Wisconsin A.  In bracket play we lost to both Marquette and the Univ. of Illinois A.

It was a great weekend for tennis and we met quite a few people throughout the tournament.  We’d like to thank the Midwest section of TOC for doing such a great job putting the tournament together.  Congratulations to Wisconsin A for taking 1st and another local school, Purdue, for taking 5th and winning one of the automatic bids to Nationals.  IU also won the sportsmanship award and get one of the bids as well, so congrats to them.  We wish you all the best of luck in April!  Our job now is to try to put a team together to maybe make it to the TOC Spring Invite in Tucson, AZ.  It’s unlikely we’ll be able to get enough people, but we’ll update  that as we go along.
