Butler Esports – Extra Life 2019

Butler Club Esports is proud to announce that we will be supporting the Extra Life charity and the Children’s Miracle Network of hospitals again this year!  We will host a 24-hour charity stream from 9:00pm Friday, November 15 to 9:00pm Saturday, November 16, 2019.

Last year, we were able to raise more than $650 for Extra Life, and this year we hope to raise the bar even higher!  You can look forward to a 24-hour stream with that weekend’s Collegiate Star League matches, as well as highlights from our competitive teams and club members, giveaways, and more!

Don’t miss the stream at twitch.tv/butleresports, and be on the lookout for information about how you can donate and help fundraise with us.  Many more details to come!

Hearthstone Gamma Playing to Advance

As one of three Butler Hearthstone teams playing in the fall Tespa Hearthstone Collegiate Championship, Butler’s Gamma squad, led by captain Stephen Lichtenwalter ’22 alongside Mason Lovett ’22 and Jorden Clemens ’22, is looking ahead to tomorrow night’s match.

A win against Lourdes University, also currently 4-1, at 10pm this Tuesday may likely mean advancing to the regional playoff, provided the team does not go winless in their final two matches of the regular season.  The regional playoff, on November 9 and 10, will pit the top 32 Hearthstone teams in the North region against each other in a double-elimination tournament, including teams from the US Midwest and central Canada.

Catch the match against the Lourdes University Gray Wolves at twitch.tv/tannanai, tomorrow night, October 22 at 10:00pm Eastern.

Edit: With a close loss against Lourdes, 2-3, Butler Gamma has not been eliminated from Tespa contention, but will be looking to go 2-0 (or 1-0 with a bye) in the last two weeks of the regular season.

Introducing Butler Club Esports

For its entire history, Butler Esports has existed as a Butler University student organization.  As of the beginning of this semester, the Butler Esports officer board is proud to announce that we have become an officially recognized University Club Sport, under the Butler University Office of Recreation and Wellness.

We are going through the ongoing onboarding process with our current members, and will continue doing so throughout the coming weeks.  Join us in celebrating this accomplishment for the Butler Esports organization, and also at our club meeting this Sunday!
