Butler Esports will be holding this year’s Extra Life 24-hour charity stream event next weekend! The stream will start on Friday, April 2, at 5pm, and last until 5pm on Saturday, April 3. As always, we will be fundraising for Extra Life, a partner of Children’s Miracle Network hospitals (like Riley Hospital in Indianapolis), by collecting donations during and before the stream!

Well, we’ve made it! It was challenging, and long, and mask-covered, but we finished the fall 2020 semester. Not only did we support 13 competitive teams, but this fall even brought the debut of our (hopefully annual) Battle for Indiana tournament, and more! Check below for an update on our competitive teams:
We want to officially invite you all to our last body meeting of the semester, which will be held on Sunday, November 8 at 3:00pm on Zoom! The link is included in the image above this message. We will be holding a special election to vote on a new Treasurer and Safety Officer for the club, with the departure of Hunter Newman at the end of the fall semester. If you are interested in running for either position (or both), please see our Discord channel for information on how to apply!
Butler Esports is proud to announce its partnership with the Community Health Network, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Fairbanks Treatment Center. The Fairbanks Treatment Center was established in 1945, and has been helping residents of Central Indiana with substance abuse disorders get on a path to recovery ever since. We are excited to be running a charity stream to support the crucial work that the Fairbanks Treatment Center has been doing for 75 years. On October 8th, we will be hosting a 12-hour charity stream from 10am-10pm in support of Fairbanks’ Day of Giving. Our goal is to raise $500 for the organization. Stay tuned for the schedule of the day, which we’ll share next week!
Butler Esports will have its second meeting of the semester on Sunday, October 11, at 3:00pm via Zoom.
On the agenda for this meeting is a review of our proposed updated club constitution; the new Constitution draft can be viewed here. Notable changes include a rework of some of the officer roles and responsibilities, and the addition of our new faculty advisor, Dr. Lee Farquhar. We will also be reviewing some of the things still to come for this semester, and probably playing some kind of party games! (If you have suggestions, let an officer know!)
Butler Esports is proud to announce the first annual Battle for Indiana collegiate esports tournament!
Welcome back to campus, Bulldogs, and congratulations on starting a new year! We want to invite you to join us for our fall callout meeting this Sunday afternoon, August 30, at 3:00pm. Due to COVID-19 and Butler’s suspension of in-person classes for the first two weeks of the semester, we will be meeting virtually, via Zoom, at the link bit.ly/esports0830. All students are welcome to attend and learn more about our program!
On the agenda for Sunday is an introduction of our club officers for the 2020-2021 academic year, an introduction to the year’s structure and team-forming process, and introducing the team Managers who will direct the establishment of teams for the year. Come prepared with questions!
Additionally, we will be making an appearance from 11:30am to 2:00pm at Butler’s Virtual Block Party, held on Saturday 8/29 via Zoom – come check us out there as well!
It’s safe to say that the Spring 2020 semester progressed like nobody thought it would. Read more about the accomplishments of our teams below!
