Butler Esports Announces Charity Stream for Fairbanks Treatment Center’s 75th Anniversary

Butler Esports is proud to announce its partnership with the Community Health Network, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Fairbanks Treatment Center.  The Fairbanks Treatment Center was established in 1945, and has been helping residents of Central Indiana with substance abuse disorders get on a path to recovery ever since.  We are excited to be running a charity stream to support the crucial work that the Fairbanks Treatment Center has been doing for 75 years.  On October 8th, we will be hosting a 12-hour charity stream from 10am-10pm in support of Fairbanks’ Day of Giving.  Our goal is to raise $500 for the organization.  Stay tuned for the schedule of the day, which we’ll share next week!

Fall 2020 Constitution Meeting

Butler Esports will have its second meeting of the semester on Sunday, October 11, at 3:00pm via Zoom.

On the agenda for this meeting is a review of our proposed updated club constitution; the new Constitution draft can be viewed here.  Notable changes include a rework of some of the officer roles and responsibilities, and the addition of our new faculty advisor, Dr. Lee Farquhar.  We will also be reviewing some of the things still to come for this semester, and probably playing some kind of party games!  (If you have suggestions, let an officer know!)

Fall 2020 Callout Meeting

Welcome back to campus, Bulldogs, and congratulations on starting a new year!  We want to invite you to join us for our fall callout meeting this Sunday afternoon, August 30, at 3:00pm.  Due to COVID-19 and Butler’s suspension of in-person classes for the first two weeks of the semester, we will be meeting virtually, via Zoom, at the link bit.ly/esports0830.  All students are welcome to attend and learn more about our program!

On the agenda for Sunday is an introduction of our club officers for the 2020-2021 academic year, an introduction to the year’s structure and team-forming process, and introducing the team Managers who will direct the establishment of teams for the year.  Come prepared with questions!

CCL Playoffs Begin

The last few weeks have been interesting ones for Butler Club Esports.  With students in self-isolation, many of our teams’ seasons suspended, and a shift towards online learning – and gaming! – only a few teams have been able to continue competing.  Our varsity/BIG EAST League of Legends and Rocket League teams are playing conference matches, but Butler’s Call of Duty squad has also been very active over the past few weeks – and next weekend is the highlight of their season!
