Congratulations to Purdue University, who won this past weekend’s Battle for Indiana esports tournament!  Read all about it at our Battle for Indiana page.

Twenty teams from seven universities from around the state of Indiana came together online last weekend, September 26 and 27, to compete to be crowned champion.  In each of VALORANT, Rocket League, Overwatch, and League of Legends competition, teams played a single round-robin group stage before the top two teams played an extended finals series.  Teams were awarded one point for a group stage win, and two points for a finals win.

VALORANT – #1 Purdue University (3-0) defeated #2 Indiana University (2-1) 2-0 in the final matchup.
3. Ball State University (1-2)
4. Butler University (0-3)

Rocket League – #1 Purdue University (4-0) defeated #2 Indiana University (3-1) 4-2 in the final matchup.
3. Butler University (2-2)
4. Ball State University (1-3)
5. Manchester University (0-4)

Overwatch – #2 Ball State University (3-1) defeated #1 Purdue University (4-0) 3-2 in the final matchup.
3. Indiana University (2-2)
4. Butler University (1-3)
5. Bethel University (0-4)

League of Legends – #1 Purdue University (5-0) defeated #2 Indiana University (4-1) 2-0 in the final matchup.
3. Butler University (3-2)
4. Ball State University (2-3)
5. Valparaiso University (1-4)
6. Manchester University (0-5)

Participating schools were Ball State University, Bethel University, Butler University, Indiana University, Manchester University, Purdue University, and Valparaiso University.  We hope to bring back the Battle for Indiana, potentially with even more schools or even more game titles, next year!
