Over the weekend, the team traveled to St. Louis for a tournament. The Midwest Plains Volleyball Conference (MWPVC) hosted an event at Oakville High School for its east regional competition. The Dawgs traveled for the first time this semester and after some tough fought battles finished 8th overall. Dealing with a few injuries and some unlucky breaks, the boys played a very competitive tournament.  The team started the day off with a 25-17, 25-19 victory against Saint Louis B. The next game the dawgs were also victorious winning in two sets against Southeast Missouri State 25-23 and 25-18. In the last game of the morning, Butler was unfortunately fell against the eventual 2nd overall seed University of Arkansas. This placed Butler in the silver bracket where we fell to Saint Louis A team and Harding University. This doesn’t take away from the incredible performance the Dawgs put up all day, not to mention starting 2 freshman all tournament while still being powered by a force of primarily sophomores and juniors. This young team is growing and very competitive and they let it be known early. Also, Junior middle, Ethan Polak, played an exceptional tournament being one of our strongest blockers and deadly attacker. Additionally, Sophomore setter, Sam Lineweaver, did a fantastic job distributing the ball all weekend getting all our hitters involved. Teaming up with right side Junior, Sam Summers, the power/connection of two Sams proved to be a strong force all tournament. Congrats to them for a great tournament. We cannot wait to continue the season!

That is all, as always Go Dawgs.
