D2 Invite and Looking Forward

The Dawgs traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin this past weekend to participate in the D2 Invitational. The Dawgs were without some key members of the team and finished the weekend with a record of 2-6.

L- Winona State (23-25, 17-25)

L- La Crosse (14-25, 13-25)

L- Mankato (13-25, 12-25)

L- River Falls (22-25, 12-25)

W- Stephen’s Point (25-22, 15-25, 15-8)

L- Carroll (24-26, 19-25)

W- Saint Olaf (27-25, 18-25, 17-15)

L- Michigan Tech (18-25, 25-22, 10-15)

Overall, it was not the best weekend for the Dawgs but this is another step in the journey to Nationals. The upcoming schedule will consist of practice and the Dawgs training until Nationals in April.

Upcoming Schedule for the Dawgs

The Dawgs are back in action after a much needed break. On February 1st, the Dawgs will return to Peoria, Illinois to attend the Regional Championships at Bradley University. The Dawgs will look to have a strong showing in our first league tournament of the season. Also, Nationals registration is underway and the Dawgs are that much closer to returning to Nationals. This is just another step on the road to Kansas City in the spring.

Happy Holidays From The Dawgs

The Dawgs had a successful first semester and are looking to transfer that success over to next semester. Now, the Dawgs are at rest and will recharge over this Christmas break and gear up for next semester. All the Dawgs want for Christmas is a bid to Nationals in Kansas City.

The Dawgs would like to extend their holiday wishes to all of Club Sports and the entire Butler community. Have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

End of Fall Semester Recap

The Dawgs Fall season is coming to a close, the Dawgs finish the fall season with a 6-2-2 record. Overall, it was a very strong start to the season for the Dawgs. The Dawgs showed great grit and determination throughout every match they played this semester. Below are the results from our last tournament at Bradley University in PeoVegas, Illinois. Thanks for the support and help this semester. The Dawgs hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family. See you all next semester!!

-SLU-B- Team recovered from slow start to overcome the SLU-B team

-Illinois C- Thanks to a strong defense and quick offense the team pounded the Illinois-C team in straight sets

-Ball State- The Dawgs were able to get their revenge on Ball State with a dominant performance

-Bradley University- Dawgs made it to the gold bracket and faced a team that should have been faced in the championship and lose their quarterfinal match in 3 sets

Butler Fall Classic Results and Upcoming Schedule

The Butler A team provided a solid performance until they ultimately fell in the championship match to Ball State. They finished with an overall record of 9-4 . Also, the Butler B team had a very strong showing as they finished 4th with a record of 3-5. Overall, it was a very good day of volleyball for the Dawgs. Up next, the Dawgs will be traveling to Bradley on November 2nd to participate in the Bradley University Fall Invitational. This is yet another step towards Kansas City.
