Call of Duty to Return to CCL
Butler’s Call of Duty team will make its debut into the 2019-20 academic year tomorrow night, in the first match of many in Season 2 of the College CoD league against Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
The squad played in the inaugural CCL season last spring, finishing an impressive 15-8 and placing in the top 16 playoffs of a league containing dozens and dozens of top-tier teams from across the country. This year, CCL will be even bigger and more competitive, and our Call of Duty squad is ready for the challenge!

Fall 2019 In Review
As we arrive at the beginning of finals week, it’s usually appropriate to take some time to reflect. It’s been quite a semester, and Butler Club Esports is ready to wrap up the fall of 2019. We were able to achieve so much! Below we’ve collected some highlights.
Extra Life 2019 is in the Books!
On behalf of the Butler Club Esports officer board, I want to extend a gigantic thank you again to all of our participants, streamers, donors, organizers, viewers, and supporters – this weekend’s Extra Life 24-hour charity stream was an incredible success, and we couldn’t have done it without you all!
We streamed virtually uninterrupted for 24 hours, covering titles from Sea of Thieves to Just Dance to Mario Party, to esports matches in League of Legends and Rocket League, competitive 1v1s and even a Mario Kart 8 speedrun. During and before the 24 hours from 9pm Friday, November 15 to 9pm Saturday, November 16, we raised a total of $1,205 for Extra Life and Riley Hospital for Children here in Indianapolis.
We will absolutely be holding this event next year and on into the future, and maybe even in our brand-new parking garage esports facility – we are always looking to improve and develop as we go, so keep on the lookout for more details!
Butler Club Esports Constitution Meeting
Butler Club Esports will be meeting on Sunday, December 8 at 3:00pm in Pharmacy Building 150. We will be going over the past semester and looking ahead to the spring, as well as voting on a new Constitution for the club to reflect our recent transition to being a club sport.
Additionally, we will be electing a Safety Officer for the club, a position that will be filled beginning in January. More details will be coming about that position, as well as a draft Constitution to be reviewed before the vote. Club members who are present at the meeting will be eligible to vote on both the Constitution and the Safety Officer election.
Extra Life Schedule is Here!
We are excited to release the full schedule for our 24-hour charity stream with Extra Life this weekend, from 9pm Friday November 15th to 9pm Saturday the 16th. We have a lot of exciting things planned for everyone!
We want to invite students to come join us at certain times on-stream in our headquarters, the Lacy School of Business room 010 (basement). We will be playing group games and having a great time – plus, students who attend will be entered in a drawing to win one of dozens and dozens of giveaway prizes from Tespa and Riot games! Come join us from 9pm-1am Friday night, as well as 11am-2pm and 8pm-9pm Saturday!
Find more information, as well as the full schedule of events, on our Extra Life page!
