Many of our club sports competed this past Saturday and Sunday as the Fall semester comes to a close!
Our Equestrian club attended the St. Mary of the Woods Show that included all schools for this region. The women placed first, third, fourth and fifth in the Open and Reserve High Point Rider classes. They also had riders place 5th in Intermediate and 3rd in Beginner! Congratulations on a great season!
The Curling Team competed in another Circle City Curling League game at The Forum. The team will play two more games before their semester comes to a close. They will start up again Saturdays of next semester!
The Women’s Club Volleyball team traveled to Indiana University this Saturday to compete in the Hoosier Classic! Their A team went 5-1 in pool play against Wisconsin B (2-0), Indiana State B (2-0), and Indiana A (1-1). The B team went 3-3 in their pool against Ball State A (0-2), Bellarmine (2-0), and Purdue B (1-1). After seeding for bracket play, the two Butler teams were scheduled to play each other! After a tough match, the A team continued on. They defeated Purdue A in 3 games. In the championship match they fell to Wisconsin A (1-2) after a tough match, finishing second out of 16 teams. The women also hosted DePauw University on 12/10 and defeated them in 2 games! Congrats on a great end to the semester!
Lastly, The Tennis club hosted the Butler Winter Invite on Saturday! It was an 8 team tournament including Indiana, Purdue, Notre Dame, IUPUI, Illinois, Xavier, and Valparaiso. In the first round Butler defeated IUPUI, Indiana beat Purdue, Illinois defeated Valpo and Notre Dame defeated Xavier. In the second round of play Butler faced IU and won and Notre Dame defeated Illinois. Butler and Notre Dame faced off for the championship. The dawgs came out victorious to complete an awesome semester!
