Last weekend was one of the busiest thus far for our Club Sports teams! There were a total of 10 events over nine teams. Here’s how everyone did:
Men’s Volleyball: The Men’s Volleyball team hosted their Inaugural Halloween Showcase this weekend in the HRC. There were many teams that attended this event, including Ferris State, Indiana State, Ball State, and Southern Illinois. The Butler ‘A’ team ended up going 4-0 on the day and was crowned champions of the tournament! They beat both Indiana State (25-16, 25-20) and Southern Illinois (25-19, 26-24) in pool play. In the semi-final round, they beat Indiana State (25-16, 25-17) and in the championship, they won against Ferris State (25-14, 25-17). Congrats to the team!
Tennis: The Tennis team traveled to Toledo, Ohio for the Clay Court Invitational. They played against some tough competition under some drastic weather conditions (snow already?!). After three days of matches, the team ended up getting 3rd place! Congrats!! Photo credits to the team
Hockey: The Hockey team lost two close games to Illinois over the weekend. The score of their first game was 2-7 and the score of their second game was 4-7. The team will bounce back on November 10th against Cincinnati.
Women’s Basketball: The Tennis team traveled to Northern Kentucky University for their first event of the semester, the NKU Norse Invitational. They went 1-2 on the day, with their win coming against Northern Kentucky University.
Swimming: The Swim team traveled to Miami Ohio on Saturday for their first tournament of the semester.
Women’s Soccer: The team closed their strong fall season out with an away game against Bradley University. Congrats on an incredible fall semester! Photo credits to Jimmy L.
Ultimate: The Ultimate Frisbee team traveled to Grace College for a tournament on Saturday.
Women’s Volleyball: The Women’s Volleyball team sent both the ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams to University of Dayton on Saturday. The ‘A’ team made it to the gold bracket and dropped an extremely competitive, heartbreaking game to Ohio State ‘A’. The ‘B’ team competed in the bronze bracket after a tough morning pool play schedule.
Men’s Lacrosse: The team traveled to Indiana University for a huge battle against in-state rival IU.
