With the month of March quickly approaching, some of our outdoor sports teams have begun practicing and competing. This coming weekend, five teams are competing, two of which are doing so for the first time this semester!
Climbing: Members of the team are heading to Brevard, North Carolina for a Regionals tournament! The hope is to qualify for the Sectionals tournament in Chicago.
Women’s Lacrosse: The team is traveling to Purdue for their first game of the semester. Game time is set for 6:30pm on Friday.
Men’s Basketball: The team is hosting a three-game series against University of Kentucky in the EFG. Games are on Saturday afternoon.
Women’s Volleyball: The ‘A’ team is off to Purdue for a Nationals qualifying tournament on Saturday. Play begins at 8:00am.
Hockey: After one week off, the Hockey team is playing against Ball State in the ICHC Tournament on Friday at the Trine Thunder Ice Arena.
Now let’s check out last weekend’s results:
Equestrian: The team brought home 19 medals over the weekend, including a 1st place award! They competed using four horses, all of which performed extremely well. This was their 4th IHSA tournament of the year.
Swim: Following one week off of competition, the swim team attended the Purdue Pool Play Invitational over the weekend, with hopes of qualifying more swimmers for Regionals.
Men’s Volleyball: The team drove to La Crosse, WI for the DII Midwest Invite. They ended up going 3-2 on Saturday and 0-2 on Sunday, finishing in 10th place. They beat Carleton College, Michigan Tech, and #23 ranked UW-Stevens Point. Their losses came from #5 UW-La Crosse, Indiana State, #18 UW-Platteville, and Winona State. Following their Sunday matches, the team drove safely back to Indy in a snowstorm.
Tennis: Following a long drive to Madison, Wisconsin, the Tennis team competed in the Badger Regionals Tournament. They made it to the top nine teams of the tournament!
