It’s officially the month of May and that means final exam week! With the stress that comes with finals week, here are some study tips to help you out:
- Create Study Guides
Re-write your notes from the semester in a study guide format, highlighting the main points from the semester. It’ll make studying a large amount of information more manageable! Plus, you are more likely to remember what you handwrite more so than what you type. - Remove Distractions
When you sit down to study, whether in your room, the library, or elsewhere, try to remove distractions around you so that you can effectively study. Distractions can include your phone and computer. It might be a good idea to turn off your wifi while looking through your notes. - Take Breaks
While some people try to study for hours on end, it is important to take study breaks to give your mind a break! Go for a short walk, call a friend, or have a snack. - Exercise
Exercising during your study week will give your brain a chance to relax! It increases memory, boosts your mood, and reduces stress. - Get Enough Sleep
Getting eight hours of sleep per night, especially before an exam, is important for your brain to function at its highest level. Trade in the all-nighter for an effective study session followed by a good night’s sleep!
On another note, two Club Sports teams played in events last weekend to close out the semester! Here is how they did:
Ultimate: The team competed in the Great Lakes Regional Tournament Joliet, Illinois. In pool play, they went 2-1. They beat Wheaton and Rose-Hulman by a score of 15-5. The team fell to Olivet Nazarene 7-14.
Women’s Soccer: The team played for the first time this spring in a doubleheader in Terre Haute.
