After a successful weekend of events, there are many more to look forward to during this coming weekend. First, let’s recap how are teams fared last weekend:
Curling: On Friday, the Curling team had its first weekly Friday scrimmage of the semester. After a hard-fought game, they ended up losing in overtime 7-8. The team will be hosting a round robin of scrimmages for their league on February 1st. Photo credit to the team.
Hockey: The team picked up their first win of the season with a convincing 7-1 victory over Ball State on Saturday. Goals were scored by Will Dunleavy (2), Jack Becker, Brady Murphy (2), and Ryan Barrett (2). They lost their Sunday game by a score of 2-4. The team also hosted a prospect skate on Sunday for potential players. Photo credit to the team.
Ski & Snowboard: A record number of members attended the Ski & Snowboard team’s first event of the season! The 22 members spent the day on Saturday at Perfect North Slopes. Thankfully, there were no injuries! Photo credit to the team.
Men’s Volleyball: Due to weather and travel problems, the home tournament scheduled for Saturday was canceled. The team will be traveling to the MWPVC North Regional Championships next, on February 9th in Peoria, Illinois.
Swim: The swim team traveled to Indiana University for an intense meet on Saturday! They had many individuals participating at the event, with hopes of more qualifying for the national tournament. Their next meet is on February 2nd at Notre Dame. Photo credit to the team.
Looking forward to the weekend of February 2nd-3rd, there will be four teams in action.
Men’s Basketball: The team is hosting their first event of the spring semester on Sunday, February 3rd at 9:30 am against Western Kentucky. This game might be postponed due to the clean-up of Dance Marathon.
Hockey: Coming off an exciting first win of the season, the team will be taking on Wright State University this weekend. Games will be held on Friday, February 1st at 9:10 pm and Saturday, February 2nd at 7:30 pm at Wright State.
Swim: The swim team will be traveling for their third weekend in a row out of four. This weekend, they are headed to Notre Dame for a meet on February 2nd.
Curling: The team will be hosting a two-hour round robin of scrimmages on February 1st, beginning at 7:30. All matches will take place at Indy Fuel Tank – Fishers.
